The Australian War Memorial is renowned as one of the world’s great museums.
It is here that visitors remember the service and sacrifice of Australians in war, and discover their extraordinary stories. The Memorial is unique: a place that commemorates the 102,000 Australians who have died in war. The Memorial is also a state-of-the-art museum, combining relics, works of art and photographs with modern audiovisual techniques in stunning and innovative ways. Visit ANZAC Hall and experience Striking by night featuring the famous Lancaster bomber “G for George” and find out what it was to be like in Sydney Harbour when the Japanese midget submarines attacked in 1942. While at the Memorial make sure you take the time to trace your family history in our Research Centre and visit the Special Exhibitions Gallery.
