covid-19 support
Our message to the
Canberra Region Tourism Industry
These are extraordinary times for our industry and the community.
As a tourism industry we’ve faced unparalleled disruptions this year through bushfires, hailstorms and now COVID-19. This rapidly evolving situation with Coronavirus and the disruptions to global travel and public events is on a scale unprecedented. The priority right now is public health, and we support our health authorities and all levels of government in the steps they are taking to contain the virus spread.
The NCAA are in constant discussions with Visit Canberra, Territory and Federal Governments, and our national tourism colleagues, on the necessary measures to support businesses under pressure, while preparing the foundations for a fast and strong recovery. Be assured tourism recovery is front and centre in the mind of decision and policy makers.
There are a lot of communiques, EDMs and information being made available to you by the Government’s Health and Tourism Authorities. Through the crisis we’re not going to clog up your inbox unnecessarily repeating information, so we urge you to follow these sources of up to date and official information.

Be mindful of your staff, your colleagues and yourself.
These are uncertain and difficult times, and all of us in business will be feeling levels of anxiety. Many of us will have staff and colleagues worried about their own futures, and the health and well-being of their families. If you see signs of anyone not coping as well as they could, don’t hesitate to reach out for support or access some of the following helpful resources.
Anyone needing to talk to someone about how they are going and their concerns, are urged to contact Lifeline on 13 11 14.

COVID-19 Clean Practicing Business
Our COVID-19 Clean Practicing Business accreditation has been recognised through the World Tourism & Travel Council’s ‘Safe Travels’ stamp.
This stamp is global recognition of enhanced health and safety measures, in line with the WTTC global Safe Travels protocols.
The Safe Travels Stamp is being used by countries across the world, and we believe that it will support our industry in the re-opening of international travel.
